Diagnostic Assessments

At Precision Mind Psychology, diagnostic assessments are designed to provide a clear and accurate understanding of your mental health, learning profile, or cognitive functioning.

A formal diagnosis can be an important step in accessing the right support, whether that involves tailored psychological treatment, referrals to medical specialists, or eligibility for services such as NDIS funding.

A diagnostic assessment is a structured and evidence-based process used to determine whether a person meets criteria for a specific condition. This goes beyond a standard therapy session and involves gathering information from multiple sources to build a comprehensive understanding of your presentation.

The assessment process may include a detailed clinical interview, standardised questionnaires, cognitive or academic testing (where relevant), and review of background information such as developmental, educational, or medical history. Collateral information from parents, partners, or teachers may also be included where appropriate.

At the conclusion of the assessment, you will receive a clear outcome regarding diagnosis (where applicable), a comprehensive written report, and practical recommendations for treatment and support. Reports can also be used to support referrals, educational or workplace adjustments, and access to services such as NDIS.
